Lawmakers Agree on Child Protection Plan in Punjab Province, Pakistan
July 09, 2014: Members of the Punjab Assembly (PA) and civil society organisations (CSOs) have agreed to move a bill to establish a Commission for the protection of child rights in the province of Punjab, Pakistan.
This consensus was achieved during a three-day workshop organised by the Child Rights Movement (CRM-Punjab).
Eleven MPAs from different political parties, CSOs representatives and CRM Punjab officials attended the workshop that evolved an action plan for bringing positive changes in the state of child rights in Punjab by working jointly along with technical assistance from the CRM.

Global March partner in Colombia, Fundación Mundo Mejor secures the Guinness World Records Certificate for the largest rag doll in the world.
The rag doll 'NANA' was created as a mascot during the recently held 10th National Fair on Childhood for the sensitisation of people towards protection, promotion and restoration of the rights of the child.
Global March congratulates Fundación Mundo Mejor for this achievement and looks forward to many more milestones in the fight against child labour.
A Celebration of Nomadic Culture at GODH Lahore Gypsy Mela
Global March partner organisation in Lahore, Grassroot Organisation for Human Development (GODH), since its inception in 1998 has focused on the neglected and often marginalised indigenous nomadic (Gypsy) children. In order to create an environment of social cohesion and inclusion for these communities, GODH has been organising events to promote the culture of these tribes. Continuing with this tradition, GODH Lahore organized a two-day event called ‘Gypsy Mela’ on the 4th and 5th of March, 2014 in Lahore, Pakistan focusing on the theme of ‘Identity’ (social and legal).
