Queen Rania speaks out on behalf of 72 million children and 774 million adults who are missing out on an education. On the eve of the world's high level group on education, she calls upon all governments to provide good quality education to everyone, and make sure that girls in particular are helped to go to school.
At the 'Education for All' midway point, national ministers and leaders have been called to meet in Dakar from 11 th to 13th December, to discuss progress over the last seven years, and what needs to be done before 2015 in order to meet the global education targets. Progress to date has been painfully slow, and one goal, 'getting an equal number of girls and boys into school' was already missed in 2005.
'Education for All is not a suggestion, it is a global imperative. We owe it to the world's waiting girls and boys to give their cause our all' says Rania Al Abdullah
