Advocacy

Advocacy is at the heart of Global March’s mission. We believe that lasting change in the fight against child labour comes from the synergy of community-driven solutions and evidence-based policy action. Our approach combines bottom-up and top-down strategies. We implement Area-Based Approaches (ABAs) and promote Child Labour Free Zones (CLFZs) that tackle child labour at the grassroots level. These programmatic interventions not only transform local realities but also generate data, insights, and success stories that fuel our national, regional, and international advocacy.

National & Regional Advocacy

Our members lead advocacy efforts in countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. In each region, we work closely with platforms like:

These platforms help align national campaigns with international commitments and connect local struggles to regional action plans.

Global Influence

Internationally, Global March is a recognised voice in the fight against child labour. As the largest network of CSOs working to eradicate child labour internationally, we help shape global strategies to eradicate child labour and promote:

Achievement of UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 8.7)

Ratification and implementation of ILO Conventions, especially No. 138 (Minimum Age) and No. 182 (Worst Forms of Child Labour)

Fulfilment of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child

Corporate accountability through trade reform, sustainability frameworks, and due diligence

We are the global CSO representative on child labour at the Global Coordinating Group (GCG) of the Alliance 8.7, Steering Committee member of the Supply Chain Action Group,

We also engage with the European Union, northern governments, INGOs, and donors to ensure the global child labour agenda remains a political and funding priority.
