What Guides Us

Our strategy is anchored in

Community-Owned Solutions

We promote and scale proven models like Child Labour Free Zones (CLFZs) and Area-Based Approaches (ABAs) — locally-rooted, community-led interventions that address the root causes of child labour and ensure shared ownership among families, schools, local governments, unions, and businesses.

Tackling Economic Root Causes

Child labour is an economic issue. We advocate for living incomes, decent work for adults, and social protection, while pushing for fair wage policies and responsible business practices across supply chains. We work closely with unions to organise informal workers and promote labour rights.

Education as Prevention

We believe free, quality public education is the most powerful antidote to child labour. Our strategy calls for increased investment in education systems, teacher training, and equitable access, while integrating child labour monitoring within school systems.

Collective Advocacy and Movement Building

We strengthen coalitions between civil society and trade unions, using a united voice to influence policies, monitor enforcement, share data, and scale good practices. Together, we mobilise for laws, funding, and accountability mechanisms that protect children.

Regional and Global Collaboration

Our network works across Africa, Asia, and Latin America to bridge fragmented efforts and enhance regional advocacy. We engage with platforms like Alliance 8.7, ECOWAS, and SAIEVAC, and support national and regional implementation of ILO Conventions 138 and 182.

Accountability in Trade and Business

We push for child rights to be at the centre of corporate sustainability and trade policies. We influence global frameworks — such as the EU Due Diligence Directive — and hold businesses accountable for eliminating child labour in their supply chains.
