In October 2019, Global March Against Child Labour in collaboration with its Togolese member, WAO-Afrique, organised the Sub-regional Francophone Africa level meeting of the Parliamentarians Without Borders for Children’s Rights with participation of 6 Parliamentarians and 5 civil society organisations from 6 Francophone Africa countries- Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cote D’Ivoire, Niger and Togo. The Parliamentarians and civil society organisations exchanged experiences and discussed challenges to find common solutions to achieve SDG Target 8.7.

The meeting drew commitment from the Parliamentarians for taking necessary action to adopt  and amend policies, allocate appropriate budgets, implement laws as well as make the government accountable towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 8.7 and SDG 4. The Parliamentarians also worked on a joint plan with the civil society organisations in country groups to take action in their countries together and meet again next year to assess the progress.
