Global March Against Child Labour is organising the Africa Regional Symposium on June 13th in Kampala, Uganda bringing together CSOs and unions from key Pathfinder Countries: Malawi, Uganda, DRC, and Ethiopia for knowledge sharing on the Area-Based Approach (ABA) to address child labour.  One of the key outcomes intended for this symposium is to submit collective recommendations and inputs towards Alliance 8.7 from these Pathfinder Countries on promoting the ABA to accelerate action against child labour.

The event is planned as a hybrid event. It will bring together approximately 40 participants offline and an equal number or more online. The participants will include CSOs from Uganda along with trade unions and employers’ associations working on the issues of child labour. Other INGOs and ILO representative(s) will also be present. At the conclusion of the event, the government officials from the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development will also attend.

The online audience is expected to be more diverse and from different countries covering both Pathfinder and Non Pathfinder countries.
