A Child Protection and Development Unit was established at Jaffna Teaching Hospital by CCH. Through this help-desk, child abuse cases can be reported and children and women who are in distress can have their immediate needs met. 

Under this project, a legal desk was also established for providing free legal consultation to children and women in need. Victims of domestic violence can also seek help through this service. 

So far this unit has catered to children in conflict with the law, children in need of care and protection and women in distress. In order to improve the provision of legal aid for children, a consultation meeting was held with a Juvenile Court Judge and a child friendly space was created for children in the Juvenile Court.
