CCH facilitated a 12 week ‘Smile Circles’ programme aimed at restoring child rights by promoting children’s participation in six villages of Jaffna, Columbo and Mullaiththivu districts in Sri Lanka, using a ‘Smile Circle Activities Guidebook’ for the facilitators.

From July to September 2020, over 150 children participated and helped identify the issues of child labour, child abuse, parental negligence, corporal punishment and incidents of school drop outs in their villages.  Monthly meetings of local ‘Smile Circle’ facilitators trained by CCH were organised for their capacity building and to find solutions to the issues identified by children.
